The Covid-19 Pandemic demonstrated the key role of population health for economies and social welfare. At the same time it made evident serious long-standing structural problems in health systems. In Latin America and the Caribbean (ALC), serious deficiencies were highlighted in basic dimensions such as quality, results, costs and equity. Today, countries must manage the growing complexity of their health systems while facing an unprecedented economic crisis. The convergence of these imperatives makes the status quo unsustainable.
People, not technology, are at the center of a digital transformation. The question cannot be, to modernize the information systems of the information of the health sector in the country?
